With over 20 years experience in Rural Banking, and 10 years farming on my own account, I have dealt with many of the challenges facing farming businesses today.

I started with the Rural Bank in the 80’s in Gisborne for a year, before moving down to Timaru. With three year stints in Timaru, Ashburton, and Christchurch I then ventured into hill country farming near Hanmer Springs. After 10 years years on the farm in partnership with my wife Margot, our family moved back to Christchurch and another eight and a half years of banking.

I am now utilising this experience to assist people to achieve their goals, and add value to their businesses.

Every farm and farmer is different, and I will provide a personalised package to cover your needs.

By providing independent, personalised, service, I will help farming businesses to develop to be successful and sustainable, and to meet the demands of the future.

For a complimentary first meeting to discuss your needs, please call me on 027 208 7044, or email

Rob has played a big part in our farming business since 2007. He has worked with us and added a lot in helping us recognise and achieve our goals both financial and personal.

Rob has a calm, practical approach with a good head for different business structures and situations which has helped to improve weaknesses in our business and helped in planning for the future.

He is friendly and approachable but always professional.

We look forward to continuing a successful relationship and wish Rob well in his new venture.

Sam and Cathie Bell (Sheep & Beef Farmers, Windwhistle, Canterbury)

Over the past 4 years Rob has been a trusted advisor to our farming business. We found him extremely helpful when exploring options and he encouraged us to step outside the boundaries where we would normally have looked. His guidance was integral during a time of major expansion in our business.  With his support we have been developing a succession plan to secure the long term future of the farm, whilst also addressing the needs of the whole family.

Tom & Anne Costello (Sheep & Beef Farmers, Hawarden, North Canterbury)

Rob has been our Banker for the last 10 years, and has been a trusted adviser and has a good understanding of our farming business.  He has been an important part of our expansion and has been a valuable sounding board for many different options.  We started along our Governance journey with Rob, who was part of our Board.  He has been integral part of our risk management especially with interest rates.

He has always been very approachable and professional and helped us work towards our goals.
